Day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts
Every single time I hear this song, it brings me back to a certain lil country loving fourteen year old beltin out this song back in the kitchen at SBID when we got slow and were getting to close up for the night. It reminds me of good times back with the ol' SBID crew and more innocent times where everything was simplier. But man, those were good times I wonder whast happend to that lil girl...
Day 06 - a song that reminds of you of somewhere "All these Things that I've Done"/ "Smile Like you Mean It" by the Killers
Again, this is kinda a nostalgic thing but these were two songs that I was pretty obsessed with during my trip down to Parris Island with Alice Riches and her than boyfriend George Snow (they've since married). It was our crazy roadtrip to go see a dear friend Josh graduate from boot camp and offically become a United States Marine. It was an insane like twelve, thirteen hour drive down but it was a good time and I don't regret those twentyfour or so hours in the back of Alice's car at all ♥
Day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event"Island in the Sun" by Weezer
This is kind of an ironic thing because it reminds me of a really kinda bittersweet moment, it is like one of my last memories of high school. Where I went to high school we had a kinda talent show before Christmas break and one friend I was kinda losing touch with (PD) and one I had lost touch with (DB) performed a live rendition of this song for the talent show. I remember feeling a clusterfuck of emotions but also really liking the performance a lot (but it showed how out of touch I had fallen out with both of them since their performance and participation in the talent show was a total surprise to me). Regardless despite the bittersweetness asscoiated with this song, it's one of my throwback favorites.
Day 08 - a song that you know all the words to"My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" by Herspace Holiday
I remember finding this song embedded onto somebody's myspace page (yeah, back in those days before thefacebook) that I was crushing on and instantly got hooked on the whole song and it's message and the lyrics. IDK if it was because of the crush but it just really spoke to me...especially "and you don't know me, but you owe me, a little time to find some piece of mind...and when you hold me, I'm not so lonely" part. Honestly though, to be perfectly honest, "The Young Machines" was a perfect album from start to finish but sadly I really haven't followed this artist past this album. The only other song I know all the words to are "In the Sun" by Joseph Arthur and "The Quiet things that No One Ever Knows" by Brand New.
