This was the week that I bought and listened (almost) obsessively to the new Death Cab for Cutie album Codes and Keys. I love, love Ben Gibbard and the geniusness he puts into the lyrics and songs that he creates and records. My current favorites are "You Are a Tourist", "Doors Unlocked and Opened", "Some Boys", "Unobstructed Views" and "Monday Morning". I also discovered the Canadian band Stars like 10 years later than everybody else and am absolutely mad that it took me so long to catch on. Their albums "Set Yourself on Fire" and "In Our Bedroom After the War" are phenomenal. If I recall correctly "Set Yourself on Fire" was their breakout album and it's amazing to me that their follow-up ("In Our Bedroom After the War") didn't disappoint or go a more generic route. I actually just spontaneously ordered their other 3 albums that I don't have, so hopefully they follow the pattern and don't dsappoint. I also have bought both the Amazon and iTunes exclusive versions of the new City and Colour album coming out Tuesday so I'm really, really looking forward to music next week.
