Please excuse the shoddy bar graph for this week's results, I was up in Boston for my cousin Tom's wedding and this s actually snipped from a screenshot off my iPad. This was the return of Ms. Britney Spears after being away from the playbacks for a few months. My playbacks also included an uptick as from Justin Timberlake's latest album as I started realy, really liking 'Don't Hold the Wall' and 'Strawberry Bubble Gum'. Another noteable debut was the return of Band of Horses which hadn't been heard from in at least six months, if not an even longer amount of time.
What I Watched
'Star Trek Into Darkness
This has been, so far, the funnest and best movie of the summer box office despite all of the controversy surrounding some casting choices and some obvious plot holes. It's been four years since the last one, which was the reboot directed by J.J. Abrahms. The cast though still gelled like a well-worn machine and the chemistry between Spock and Kirk was spot on, as their friendship is one of the most apealing parts of the whole series (at least to me, being new to the franchise). It was the least obvious and most fun I've seen thus far in a summer movie and I reccommend that everyone go see it, especially since it's apparently under-performing to box office expectations. Well worth seeing one (if not twice) in the movie theaters.
